New pictures of the Motorola Milestone 3, known as the Droid 3 in the US, have surfaced online – this time revealing the upcoming smartphone’s QWERTY keyboard.

With a slimmer design than its predecessor, the Milestone 3 has been snapped showing off its slide-out keypad. There are 5 rows of keys, including one dedicated to numbers and individual Search and Voice Control keys, so fans of messaging on the move will be pleased. This QWERTY keyboard promises to be user friendly and provide excellent typing support – plus, the Milestone 3 is rumoured to share the webtop capabilities of the Motorola Atrix, enabling it to function like a laptop and making it ideal for both personal and work purposes.

The Milestone 2 landed with an improved keyboard, quicker processor and support for HD video – and Motorola looks set to do the same with the Milestone 3, having packed it with an extra row of keys and more advanced features.

There is a HDMI port just below the keypad for linking the device to a compatible HD TV and viewing images on the bigger screen.

The Motorola Milestone 3 is thought to come with a dual-core processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 1GB RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera. The 4 inch qHD display likely features a 540 x 940 resolution. Like the Milestone 2, this handset is sure to come with all the usual social networking abilities and entertainment functions that you’d expect from a high-end smartphone.

From the latest photos, the handset looks slim and sleek. Do you like the look of the latest Motorola Milestone smartphone?

There is no word on how much the Milestone 3 will cost or when it will arrive, but a September launch date is expected.
