Apple’s latest move with the API on the iPhone is very interesting, they just disabled the function that allows the device to identify themselves on iTunes as to whether they are jailbroken or not.

For those unfamiliar with the term, jailbreaking is the process of hacking the iPhone’s iOS in order to install illegally downloaded applications. After a court decision in the United States stating that iPhone jailbreaking is not an illegal practice (but piracy is), it seems that Apple has been forced to act accordingly. Still, many developers stand to lose plenty of income if jailbreaking becomes an even bigger trend.

Motorola’s new Android touch screen tablet is getting its spec sheet spread around. The device will come with a 1GHz, NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU, 7 inch touch screen display, 32GB of internal memory, a 5 mega pixel camera (apparently, no front facing cam has been confirmed), and a full 1280 x 800 resolution.

Overall, this is going to be one interesting smart phone –add in the fact that it runs Android Honeycomb is all the more exciting as well. For those who are too familiar with the iPad’s much bulkier size, a 10 inch screen variant of the device will also be released. At this point, no launch date or even device name has been given.

The Mobile World Congress is going to see the Windows Phone 7 team make another big reveal. Last year, Steve Ballmer and his crew showed off the WP7’s earliest working mode. It was bare and lacked many features –but everyone was excited at the new Microsoft mobile platform. Now, the first major update to the OS (which was released last October) will be unveiled at the MWC. There are plenty of rumors pointing in in-app content downloads, Flash support and more. At the very least, copy-paste has already been confirmed.
