Sony Ericsson has established itself as one of the leaders in the fight to save the environment by introducing a new line of eco-friendly products in the form of the new GreenHeart product line. Although they may not be the first to unveil green mobiles (i.e. Samsung E200 Eco or the Nokia 3110 Evolve), the new Sony Ericsson Naite GreenHeart is still a noble attempt to continue the cause.
Moving Towards a Greener Future
The Naite exhibits environmental friendliness throughout its whole lifecycle—from the elimination of the use of harmful chemicals during its production all the way to the recycling procedures prepared once owners decide to move on. The device also comes with the MH300 portable stereo headset which is deemed to be the most eco-friendly headset in the market today. The Naite’s low-power battery charger also has the environment in mind as it only consumes 30 milliwats of energy while idle.No Compromise in Design…
The fact that the Naite is an eco-friendly device does not mean that its design is compromised. It actually shows some semblance of the very stylish Sony Ericsson C510—complete with a 2.2-inch TFT colour display that has a 240 x 320-pixel resolution. Once it is released in Q3 of 2009 it will be available in two attractive colour schemes: ginger red and vapour silver. It is aptly sized with dimensions of 108 x 47 x 12.6 mm, and weighs only 84 grams.…or in Function
The same can be said with the Naite’s features. Aside from having a functional 2-Megapixel camera, it also has an FM radio with RDS-capabilities. The Naite has an internal memory of 100MB but you can choose to upgrade its external memory by adding up to an 8GB microSD card.
There has been no official word on the launch price of the Naite GreenHeart but experts predict that it fall in the range of £75 and £85.
