The Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite, Samsung’s newest Android powered mobile phone, has once again seen pictures leaked this week; and it seems to be nearing an official release.
The pictures have surfaced at the same time as the announcement was made that the Samsung i5700 handset has had its launch date moved back to 2010.
Dialaphone is telling us that the delay comes down to the manufacturer wanting to give the Samsung i7500 Galaxy, (a recently released mobile phone,) the opportunity to establish itself before its younger brother becomes available to the public.
The website also listed some new specs for the i5700, including a 3 inch WQVGA screen, a 3.2 mega pixel camera, (without a built in flash,) and 3.5G HSDPA as well as the stock standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. Users can also make use of a microSD card slot for expandable memory and a video and media player, as well as Wi Fi connectivity.
The same page also discusses Samsung’s custom user interface, “TouchWiz”, which has functionality for widgets to be added to the home screen, allowing an easy way of accessing favourite applications and, if you so choose, your preferred web pages.
The delay is sure to disappoint those who were hoping to coax a loved one into buying it for them as a Christmas gift, as well as those who wanted to upgrade to an Android powered mobile phone but preferred Samsung over Motorola or LG.
Only time will tell whether or not those who would have bought the Galaxy Lite will hold out, or if they will cave and go with the DEXT instead, which is coming in November.
