It looks like Samsung is beating Sony Ericsson to the punch in coming out with the world’s first 12 megapixel camera phone. The Samsung Pixon 12 is slated for release in June as opposed to the reported release date of Sony Ericsson’s Satio which will be available in the market this October. The Pixon 12 is mostly being touted for its high quality camera and it is certainly a souped up snapper what with its 28 millimeter wide lens, Xenon flash and power LED flash. What’s more, the camera boasts of an intelligent autofocus feature where users can choose the focal point of an image with a simple tap on the screen. One of the best things about this camera is that it enables swift re-capture – you can take the next shot in about two seconds, according to Samsung. No more waiting for the phone to complete saving the image before you can go snapping away.
The Smart Auto feature automatically adjusts accordingly to lighting conditions so that you are still able to capture high quality images even in less than ideal environments. If that isn’t enough, there’s face, smile and blink detection incorporated into the Pixon 12. The phone also has video recording capabilities wherein you can record clips at 30 frames per second. I’m just about done with the camera; wait till you here about the rest of the features.
The Samsung Pixon 12 is equipped with Share Pix, which allows social networking buffs to quickly and easily share photos and videos to sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and so on. The mobile comes complete with both HSDPA and HSUPA supports so you know that surfing will be speedy.
The Samsung Pixon 12 is similar to the Samsung Jet and Omnia in that it’s quite a stylishly designed phone. Mobile users for whom elegance is important will be very happy with the aesthetics of the Pixon 12.
