August 17th, 2009 by Simon

nokia-3720-1Nokia’s latest mid-range mobile phone – the Nokia 3720 Classic – is set to be released on the third quarter of this year. It is a functional mobile that will sport features such as a 2-Megapixel snapper, tri band support over the 2G network, and a Symbian operating system. It is a compact device that will measure 115 x 47 x 15.3 mm and weigh only 94 grams. Nokia has equipped the 3720 with a 2.2-inch TFT screen that is able to display up to 16 million colours and a resolution of         240 x 320 pixels.

Multimedia and Connectivity

Although it’s not exactly a media-centric device, the 3720 will still have a variety of multimedia features that are more than just acceptable for a mid-ranged mobile device. This includes a functional 2-Megapixel camera with an LED flash, an MPEG4 video player, and a multi-format audio player capable of playing MP3, eAAC+, and WMA audio files. Nokia was also kind enough to include a 1GB memory card in the box kit for storing multimedia files, but users will have an option to upgrade this to up to 8GB via the 3720’s microSD slot.

Although it may not have Wi-Fi or 3G support, users will have other connectivity options on the 3720 including GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD, Blutooth, and USB.

Reliability is Key

One of the best features of the Nokia 3720 Classic is that it is both dust and water resistant – complete with an IP54 certification. Since the 5500 Sport back in 2006, this is Nokia’s most durable device, with a leak-proof and sealed design which ensures full protection for the mobile. This rugged model is excellent for users who may be exposed to all types of adverse weather conditions without needing to worry about damaging their pricey mobile phones.
