The Nokia E55, being dubbed by many consumers the “new E52” is one of the more impressive mobile phones to be produced by Nokia this year – although we couldn’t help notice the striking similarities between the two handsets.
The E52 comes in silver as standard, while the E55 comes in black; but looking at them side by side they appear to the same phone in different casings. Both have identical inbuilt 3 mega pixel cameras with LED flash, same positioned secondary cameras for video calls and the same half QWERTY keyboard that many users despise, but many also swear by.
The half QWERTY keyboard for those of you who have yet to see one, is around the same size as your standard number pad, with one minor difference; rather than, for example, the number 2 key being used to type 2, A, B and C it is instead used for 2, T and Y – so the order is QWERTY rather than alphabetical, but one still has to scroll through letters, (or enable dictionary,) to get to the letter they want.
Despite the many obvious similarities with the E52, the Nokia E55 is still a very impressive mobile phone for both personal use and business, and even features the functionality to create and edit Microsoft Office documents without any additional software.
On the personal side of life, it offers full compatibility with N Gage gaming – something a lot of Nokia fans have been waiting to see for a long time, and while it was expected to be in the form of a new N Gage, a mobile phone like the E55 is still sure to thrill plenty of Nokia fans.
