nexus_oneTaiwanese manufacturer HTC is considered to be one of the most prolific phone manufacturers this year and with several handsets with their brand already out, it is not surprising. While other phone manufacturers such as Samsung and LG have also produced plenty of devices, HTC has the largest number of high end smart phones available.

It is quite easy to see that HTC has been supporting the Google Android operating system, from the establishment of the Open Handset Alliance to the creation of the first Android smart phone, HTC played a key role. It comes as to no surprise that they are also the manufacturers behind the Nexus One –the very first Google branded handset.

Originally announced as the Bravo, this phone was showcased at the Mobile World Congress with a new name alongside the HTC Legend. Fans of the older HTC Hero will recognize the Legend as a follow up to the successful android device.

The HTC Wildfire breaks away from the high end Desire and Legend handsets with its simple hardware and focus on social networking features. It has also been announced that HTC is working on the Scorpion, this upcoming Android smart phone is rumored to be a next generation handset with features that will surpass the Nexus One.

The Android operating system is not the only mobile platform that HTC is using. Earlier this year, the Taiwanese company released the HTC Smart. This simple mid range handset makes use of the Brew operating system –the device was initially announced as the HTC Touch.Brew.

Last on the list of upcoming HTC phones is the Mondrian, a Windows Phone 7 smart phone that will be using a new 1.2 GHz Snapdragon CPU.
