Taiwan based mobile phone maker HTC has recently unveiled the successor of its highly acclaimed Touch smartphone. The new HTC handset expands on the HTC touchscreen mobile phone portfolio to deliver a more advanced touchscreen mobile experience over that of the familiar HTC Touch experience.
The new HTC Touch 2, sporting a stylish touchscreen form, is one of the first to run on the new Windows 6.5 platform that opens it up to features like the Microsoft My Phone and Windows Marketplace for Mobile sites online.

Its quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual band WCDMA/HSPA slider touchscreen smartphone with a compact 104 x 55 x 12.0 mm weighing just 110 grams. It’s powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor clocked at 528 MHz running Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro. It’s got a generous 512 MB ROM and a 256 BM Ram for user files and application and expandable to 32 GB via a microSD expansion slot
It has an internal GPS antenna, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP, Wi-Fi 902.11b/g and a 3.5mm headphone jack.  It sports a 2.8 inch TFT LCD touchscreen with QVGA resolution and 65k color depth and a 3.2 megapixel fixed focus camera.
It comes with a standard Lithium-ion batter with 110 mAh capacity for up to 440m of talk time in GSM mode and standby time of 370 hours.
With Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, the HTC Touch 2 gives you access to the long-awaited Windows Marketplace for Mobile where you can download the apps, files, games and media content to keep you updated and growing with your needs to say ahead of the mobile computing crowd. You age is the Microsoft My Phone service that allows you to make automatic back-ups, sync images, music, contacts and send text messages from your handset to the internet.
HTC has yet to provide pricing details but the Touch 2 handset is expected to become available October 6 with wider distribution in major European and Asian markets thereafter.
