Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is going to release the Nokia C6 handset soon. According to reports, the device is due to arrive in the next few days. Various mobile network operators already confirmed to have the device when it arrives: T-Mobile and Vodafone are two major names on top of the list. In the meanwhile, retailer Carphone Warehouse has also announced that they will be offering the C6 handset when it finally comes out.
For many, the C6 is a basic smart phone –and it is. After all, the device lacks any fancy features and sticks only to the most rudimentary phone features. But when you look at it closely, it works. After all, the smart phone industry is already congested with high end mobile devices. In the meanwhile, the greater population of handset users is in the mid range category, which means that Nokia should play to their strengths on this one, and they did.
Nokia is best known for their mid range mobile phones. The Finnish mobile phone maker has always dominated that category and with the Nokia C6, it is easy to see why.
While others might scoff at the simple looking form factor, the visual elements and the design combine together into a subtle composition that is quite impressive in terms of bringing a classic style that gives the device a very well rounded look. The heavier toned shade of the plastic that surrounds the back and sides all the way to the front edges of the handset is a nice example: in white the effect is subtle; in black, it is a stark contrast that accents the device.
The handset features a 3.2 inch TFT touch screen display, a 5 mega pixel camera and ARM 11 CPU clocked at 434 MHz and the Symbian S60 version 9.4 operating system.
