Since the LG PRADA was first released over two years ago, people have been looking forward to LG and their full touch screen phone devices. Full touch screen is a term for mobile phone that exclusively use a touch screen input. This means no keyboards, face pads or nubs, just the touch screen. Is this a good thing?
The Full Screen Advantage
From a design point of view, yes; full touch screen phones do without the hardware needed for having buttons and will ultimately have smaller bodies and will be slimmer. Since keypads and keyboards tend to add thickness to a mobile, the absence of these will greatly affect how thin the mobile phone will be. Also, less energy is consumed since no LED lights will be needed for buttons. The design of the face of the phone is also made much simpler. Nothing to layout on the sides or the bottom of the screen; this does make the mobile phone look a little plain, but the end result is something so neat and clean to look at that you wonder why other mobile phones did not follow suit.
Why not go Full Screen Always?
The sound question would be, with this existing technology, why do manufacturers still produce mobile devices with keyboards and keypads? The answer is simple; it is actually annoying having to touch the screen all the time. Keyboards let you type the message while being able to view the screen unobstructed. Keypads let you navigate across menus without having to peer around your finger. There are actually a lot of restrictions to using a touch screen all the time.

Undoubtedly, the biggest draw of the LG GD510 Pop is its looks. The touch screen functions and capabilities are nothing new, especially with dual touch technology pushing things forward. This device now seems more of a novelty unless LG does something different.
